ENJOY EFFORTLESS BEAUTY, ALL THE TIME, WITHOUT ANY OF THE WORRY!

Lips are the most animated and sensual part of the face. A beautiful set of lips can even divert your attention from an individuals’ eyes when they are talking. Over recent decades women have increasingly desired fuller and more defined lips. Unfortunately as we age the opposite happens and volume & definition is lost and often times our lips become paler.

A semi-permanent lip treatment provides perfect symmetry to the cupids bow and lower lip line. The treatment is effective in creating a plumper, more youthful appearance, enhancing contours and providing the whole lip with blush colour. Add a touch of lip gloss and you will have kissable lips all day long, bursting with colour.

What is Lip Blush?

It can be used to correct asymmetry, add depth and dimension, or simply enhance your natural lip colour.

This can be created in a wide range of colours & blended to your choosing. As with traditional topical makeup; skillful shading of darker colour on the outer edge of the lip & cooler or paler colour in the centre creates an illusion of a fuller, more vibrant dewy lip.

This treatment is great for those who have patchy purple or pink toned lips and need more definition around the edge of their lip. Abby will work with your natural undertone to neutralize that first, in turn adding a suitable shade so you wake up looking lovely, and with a full blush effect! It’s not designed to replicate lipstick colours but rather give an enhanced appearance, one which can be enjoyed at all times without worrying.

Am I a good candidate for lip blush?

You are not a good candidare if:

  • You are under the age of 18
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have been on accutane within the past year
  • Have HIV or Hepatitis or any viral or infectious diseases
  • Undergoing chemotherapy
  • If you are epileptic
  • If you are taking any medications that may affect how your skins responds to blood clotting or healing
How long does it last?

The treatment can last years, however colour boost treatments are normally desired every 1-2 years to restore the vibrancy of colour. At the colour boost appointment it is possible to change the shade as the colour will layer with future applications

Does it hurt?

The lips are numbed throughout the treatment with medical grade lidoccaine making the treatment very tolerable. Please keep in mind pain tolerances vary and some do experience mild discomfort. Following the provided pre care instruction will help to ensure the treament is as comfortable as possible.

(Aftercare) What to expect post appointment

Some people may experience mild swelling which can last for aproximately 48 hours following your treatment. The colour is especially bold when the treatment is first performed & after 6-8 weeks the lips will reveal the embedded true colour beneath. You can expect the final results to heal 40-60% lighter than when they are initially done.

There will be an epithelial crust that forms in the days following the procedure. The crust is a combination of dried pigment and plasma that forms externally. It is important that the client does not pick it. Picking the crust will result in a loss of pigment. The crust will fall off naturally within a few days. For the first few days following the procedure the area will feel similar to that of a sunburn. A topical ointment can help sooth the area. Do not use Polysporin or an agent that is made to remove or heal cells.

How to care for your lips:

  • Use aquaphor, vaseline or laneige sleep mask
  • Always clean hands immediately before touching tattoo site
  • Consult with physician within 24 hours if any signs of infection develop following the procedure
  • Avoid salty, oily, spicy and acidic foods during scabbing period
  • You may ice the area within the first 48 hours but do not put the ice directly on your lips (use a barrier) and only keep it on for 10 minutes at a time
  • Do not smoke while your lips are healing for 10 days after appointment
  • Do not kiss or rub lips while they are healing
  • Try not to constantly wipe or lick lips while eating
  • Avoid swimming for at least  4 weeks to avoid infection
  • Do not whiten teeth while lips are healing
  • Do not go into tanning beds or direct sunlight for 4 weeks as this can alter the colour of pigment on your lips
  • Dont pick or touch lips
  • Do not get any facials, botox or fillers for at least 4 weeks after your treatment
  • Do not use soaps or creams other than the recommended ointments above for 7-10days
  • Drink everything through a straw for 1 week following procedure

*If a cold sore should result post treatment do not add oitment or use lipbalm on it as you want to dry it out and not spread it to the unaffected areas.*

How long is the healing time?

Swelling should go down within 1-3 days and the lips will heal in roughly 7 days. The full colour will show after 6-9 weeks.

How long will my lip blush last?

Lip blush and lip neutralization can last up to 2 years depending on aftercare and lifestyle. Additional touch ups may be required for those with darker lips to achieve desired results. Overall, annual touch ups are recommended for a refreshed look

Here are some factors that will cause your semi permanent tattoo to fade faster:

– sun exposure  (wear lip balm that contains SPF regularly )

– retinol or vitamin c

– Iron deficiency

– exfoliants

– exposure to salt water

How do I prepare for my appointment?
  • Refrain from caffeine on the day of treatment & alcohol consumption for 24 hours before your treatment.
  • Avoid Aspirin, Vitamin E or Ibuprofen for 24 hours before treatment. (take acetaminophen as an alternate)

  • Please do not tan your skin for 3 days before treatment.

  • No chemical peels, dermabrasion, laser or any other intense treatments for 2 weeks before treatment.

  • Gently exfoliate your lips with a warm wet towel or lip scrub. Afterward, hydrate and soften with moisturiser or lip balm for a few days before the treatment.
  • If you have ever had a cold sore you will need to take an antiviral treatment(aciclovir tablets). GPs usually instruct to begin taking it 3 days prior to procedure for a 7-10 day course. Even if you have never had a cold sore, 90% of the population have the virus lying dormant. Many factors can TRIGGER (not cause) the virus, permanent makeup is one of them.
  • If you have had any type of lip surgery, consult with the physician about how long you should wait before having a permanent makeup procedure on the lips.
How long will my appointment take?

You can expect the treatment time to last 2-3 hours including design & numbing time.

What if I have lip filler?

Filler and lip blush compliment one another so well! Infact we sometimes recommend getting filler prior to your lip blush appointment. Filler helps to smooth out the fine lines in your lips as well achieve volume. The volume from filler can make lips appear more pale. Lip blush can add definition and colour back into the lips. Filler and lip blush can be done no sooner than 4 weeks apart.
